**Arsenal have slapped a €45m (£38m) to €50m (£43m) asking price on Gabriel Martinelli, according to reports in Italy.**

Somewhat surprisingly, they mention that two rival Premier League clubs are among his suitors – Manchester United and Newcastle.
Turkish teams and Saudi Pro League sides are also in the mix, while Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich made an approach as well, although their interest is likely to have cooled after snapping up PSV winger Ismael Saibari.

Some fans may ask whether Newcastle’s reported interest in Martinelli could be used in talks over signing their talisman.

Including Martinelli as part of an offer would significantly reduce the amount of money required to make the deal happen, but you do wonder whether the Gunners star would be interested in a switch to St James’ Park.
Eddie Howe’s side finished 12th last season and do not have any European football. If Martinelli were to leave the Emirates, he may be hoping to join a team capable of winning titles, or at the very least, challenging at the top end of the table.
From the sound of things, though, the prospect of him staying in North London looks remote if the Gunners have indeed told suitors he can be signed for just £38m.
