Netflix released Season 3 of its Quarterback docuseries on July 14, featuring Joe Flacco, Jayden Daniels, Cam Ward, and Baker Mayfield. Flacco’s six-week stint with the Cleveland Browns before a mid-season trade to the Bengals provided plenty of drama for the cameras. The Browns finished 5-12 with three different starting quarterbacks.
Episode two captured the moment Flacco spotted rookie Shedeur Sanders wearing a mirrored visor during practice. The veteran immediately voiced his strong dislike for the accessory, sparking a blunt and entertaining debate in the quarterback room.

The exchange filmed in Berea Ohio during a Browns practice session quickly became the most shared clip from the episode premiere. Flacco first mentioned the visor to a nearby coach before turning to Sanders and Gabriel directly. The clip spread rapidly, accumulating hundreds of thousands of views within hours of the docuseries dropping on the platform.

“If you wear a visor it is for looks you think you look sweet,” Flacco said on camera addressing both rookies. “They’re just annoying. They’re gonna fog up.” He went further when a teammate asked whether he would allow his own children to wear one.
Sanders did not stay quiet. No they are not he told Flacco pushing back on the fogging claim. Flacco laughed and moved on, he added a personal footnote: “When I was a kid, I wanted a visor too. Then I’m like, visors su..,” before letting the subject drop. Sanders was still wearing the mirrored visor. The camera stayed on him.

Flacco joined the Browns ahead of the 2025 season as a bridge starter, signed to lead the offense while the rookie quarterbacks developed. The team moved on from him after four starts, handing the job first to Gabriel and then to Sanders. The visor scene served as a broader illustration of the veteran-to-rookie dynamic Flacco maintained throughout his brief Cleveland tenure – blunt, unfiltered, and entirely in character.
Shedeur Sanders is now the frontrunner to start in Cleveland ahead of the 2026 season
The clip is just a footnote to a much larger story in Cleveland. Sanders enters his second season competing with Deshaun Watson for the starting job under new head coach Todd Monken. At June minicamp, he told Browns fans he understood their desire for hope and viewed his rookie year as a foundation, while switching his jersey number from 12 to 2.
Watson returned to practice fully healthy after missing all of 2025 with a torn Achilles. The competition remained close through OTAs, with beat reporter Mary Kay Cabot noting Watson held a slight edge at the midpoint of voluntary workouts. Despite those results, Sanders led the NFL in group licensing revenue during his rookie year, earning $17.7 million from jersey sales and merchandise – more than any other player in the league.
The Browns open the 2026 season on September 7. Monken has promised an open competition but said publicly that when the decision is clear, he will make it. The Netflix series was widely expected to revisit Flacco’s unusual six months in Cleveland, including the benching and the within-division trade to Cincinnati. The visor moment will be what most viewers remember. Sanders still wears one.
