Kansas City Chiefs superfan Eric Stonestreet teams up with Patrick Mahomes in a new campaign for Coors Light.
Mahomes — who’s partnered with the beer brand for five years — issues an “official statement” in the ad explaining, “Due to certain rules, I’m not contractually permitted to appear in any commercials that promote alcoholic beverages.”
Instead, the Chiefs quarterback adds, “I’ve found the perfect actor for the job.”
The Modern Family alum enters, announcing, “Hey, it’s me, your favorite football-throwing guy.”
“After a long day of playing football and being a star quarterback and running extremely fast, it’s nice to kick back with a Rocky Mountain cold Coors Light,” Stonestreet, 54, says while relaxing in a compression suit.
“There are two things I love more than anything else in this world: throwing footballs very far for touchdowns and Coors Light,” he goes on.

Stonestreet opened up about working with his friend Mahomes, 30, on the cheeky ad.
“He’s good at his job for a reason,” the actor tells PEOPLE. “He’s detail oriented, and so he doesn’t change when it comes to acting. He’s there and present and ready to do what he needs to do and make it as great as it can be.”
Stonestreet adds that stepping into Mahomes’ shoes — literally — took some getting used to.
“Thankfully, I didn’t have to do much quarterback stuff,” he says. “I just had to do walking and sitting type stuff. And I got to dress like how Patrick would for the day, one of his tunnel looks with his sweatsuit and his shoes. I’d never worn shoes like that before, and they were pretty awesome, but they kept pushing me forward in my stance.”
Stonestreet reflected on his admiration for Mahomes, who joined the Chiefs in 2017, when the team chose him as the 10th overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Mahomes has since led the Kansas City team to seven consecutive AFC Championship Game appearances, five Super Bowl appearances and three Super Bowl victories.
“Since I’ve been a kid, I’ve been a Chiefs fan,” Stonestreet says. “When we drafted Patrick, Brett Veach, the general manager told me, ‘You’re not going to want to miss the next 10, 12 years of Kansas City Chiefs football.’ And he wasn’t wrong.”
“I haven’t missed a home game in Patrick’s career,” he continues. “I flew home every weekend during the last season of Modern Family to make sure that I missed a home game. I watched him straight through the Super Bowl, and I’ve been at every game since.”
Stonestreet concludes, “So needless to say, being able to share space with QB1 of my team and the team that I’ve been a fan with forever is just a real treat and something that I don’t think 16, 15, 17, 18-year-old Eric would believe.”
