The Seattle Seahawks are currently gearing up to defend their 2025 Super Bowl title as the 2026 NFL season approaches. The Seahawks have had some key departures this offseason, headlined by Super Bowl MVP running back Kenneth Walker III, who took his talents to the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency.
Meanwhile, some of the Seahawks' NFC West divisional rivals have gotten better, especially the Los Angeles Rams, who added Myles Garrett, Trent McDuffie, and others this summer.
Recently, Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald got 100 percent real on his team's focus amid those moves.
“Yeah, I don’t care,” Macdonald said. “Don’t care. If you start worrying about what everybody else is doing, it’s just mentally taxing. It’s so much easier if you don’t. Let’s just worry about the Seahawks and being the best version of ourselves and getting better every day,” he said, per Vic Tafur of The Athletic.

The NFC West was already arguably the best division in football prior to this offseason, with three of its teams making it to at least the second round of the playoffs last year, and now, things only figure to get tougher, thanks to the additions of both the Rams and the San Francisco 49ers.
“It’s an interesting dynamic because of the way that we’ve gone back and forth, and it all evolved pretty quickly over two years,” Macdonald said. “There is a lot of carryover and some great play callers.”
The Seahawks will certainly have to be on their game this year in order to break through and repeat as Super Bowl champs for the first time in franchise history. Seattle is slated to kick off its season with a Super Bowl rematch against the New England Patriots at home on September 9.
