Former Liverpool target Michael Olise could be on the move this summer.

The Bayern Munich winger has long been on Liverpool’s radar, regularly touted as a potential Mohamed Salah successor in the past.

But by 2026 the club are fully aware how difficult prising him out of Bavaria would be. Bayern now regard Olise as effectively off the market, which has led Liverpool’s interest to cool.

But it seems that Real Madrid are not giving up as easily.

Foot Mercato has reported that Olise wants to leave Bayern Munich and join Real Madrid this summer, and that the record European champions will make him a record transfer:

“According to our information, Michael Olise, whose contract expires in June 2029, wants to join Real Madrid this summer. The 24-year-old France international believes that the Madrid club represents the ideal environment to continue his progress and take a new step in his career. At Valdebebas, the directors are perfectly aware of this desire and want to make Olise a record transfer.”

Bayern Munich remain keen to tie Michael Olise down to a new deal, but there is an acceptance in Munich that a truly extraordinary bid could still change the picture.

With that possibility in mind, the report adds that the German champions have already sounded out potential replacements who could step into his role if he moves on.

It’s added that Olise will discuss his wishes with the leadership of Bayern Munich immiently.

After a bruising night for Olise and France against Spain, the Bayern winger may simply crave a break more than anything else, regardless of how intense the transfer noise becomes.

In the short term, you suspect his priority will be a holiday and a chance to reset mentally before he even begins to think about Real Madrid, Bayern or what comes next in his career.
