Paris Saint-Germain have been described as “realistic” about Bradley Barcola’s future, and it has been reported that RB Leipzig have laid out terms for a Yan Diomande transfer.
PSG “realistic” about Bradley Barcola future
There are so many moving pieces around this summer’s PSG transfer puzzle that it is difficult to keep up.
Wednesday’s update regarding Liverpool’s pursuit of Barcola comes in the context of PSG’s interest in two other attackers.
While the European champions “would like to keep” Barcola, the Athletic‘s David Ornstein has said PSG are “realistic” about his future.
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano wrote that the French club contacted Borussia Dortmund to enquire about highly-rated winger Ibrahim Mbaye.

Meanwhile, Bild reported that RB Leipzig would only be willing to sell Diomande for over £85 million in a deal that must include an immediate loan back to Leipzig.
So what can we take from this? Well, PSG are clearly planning to sign attackers, leaving Barcola surplus to requirements.
Arsenal and Liverpool are the two most-heavily linked clubs, but both could be put off by the price L’Equipe suggest that PSG want, £127m.
Hopefully, that fee comes down towards the end of the window if Barcola begins to force his club’s hand by requesting a move away after the conclusion of his World Cup campaign.

Liverpool lack a real ball-winner so Joanna Durkan has looked into the positives and negatives of a move for Wolves‘ Joao Gomes, with the Reds reported in Brazil to have made contact for the midfielder:
“He is press-resistant, highlighted by his average of 1.37 dribbles per 90 in the Premier League last season, which sees him rank in the top three percent of all central midfielders.
“While he does not accumulate high passing numbers, mostly due to Wolves not dominating possession, he instigates attacks by winning and retaining the ball before progressing it up the pitch.
“He is comfortable and confident in tight spaces, and his defensive positioning saw him win 7.18 duels per 90 (top 10 percent), and rack up 12 defensive actions per 90 (top 14 percent).”
