Declan Rice’s son means everything to him.
The English soccer player welcomed his first child, son Jude, with his longtime girlfriend, Lauren Fryer, on Aug. 7, 2022. The couple met when they were 17 years old.
To commemorate Jude’s birth, Rice got a tattoo dedicated to him, which features Jude’s name, birth date and zodiac sign. The tattoo also includes a sweet declaration: “Nothing else matters.”
Jude has attended many of his dad’s soccer games since his arrival, including cheering on England in the 2026 World Cup.

Jude was born on Aug. 7, 2022. His birth date and name were unveiled through his dad’s tattoo when he played in a Premier League soccer game three weeks later on August 21.
Located on Rice’s forearm, the tattoo also features Jude’s zodiac sign and reads “Nothing else matters” in a script font.
Rice spoke about the sweet declaration in a video from August 2025. “Obviously, he’s my boy. In life, I want to do everything for him,” he said.
He has attended many of his dad’s soccer games

Jude has been spotted in the crowd and on the field with his parents at several of his father’s soccer games.
When Jude was just under a year old, Rice squeezed in some quality time with him on the field at a match in May 2023, when the soccer player was representing West Ham United in the Premier League. The pair even enjoyed a moment surrounded by bubbles.
In May 2026, Jude celebrated Arsenal’s Premier League championship win with his parents. On the field in London, he got to see his dad’s trophy up close — and the silver cup topped with a gold crown was half his size.
Most recently, Jude and his mom traveled to watch his dad play in the 2026 World Cup for England.
He’s already picking up soccer

Jude started kicking around a soccer ball early on, including at one of his dad’s matches in May 2024. His dad hopes to be a role model for all kids eager to play soccer.
“I think kids are now watching players like me and the England squad, seeing how we are, how we interact with fans, how we are with kids,” Rice told British Vogue in May 2026.
Rice shows his support for youth soccer in other ways, too. In 2024, he helped provide a new soccer field to Dickerage Youth Club in Kingston, England, where he played growing up, per the outlet.
His parents value privacy

Jude’s parents maintain their family’s privacy.
Rice keeps his Instagram mostly focused on his soccer career. When it comes to social media, Rice prefers to tune out the noise.
“You don’t need to listen to people on the outside,” he told Men’s Health UK in May 2024. “Everyone’s going to talk. Everyone’s going to give their opinion on what they think.”
Rice believes all that matters are the people around you, especially family and friends. “As long as you believe in yourself and you know you’re good enough, that’s all that matters,” he added.
