Former Mountaineer quarterback Will Grier is retiring from the NFL after seven seasons. The Carolina Panthers placed him on the reserve/retired list today.
Grier, a third round pick to the Panthers in 2019, appeared in two games as a rookie, throwing for 228 yards without a touchdown while completing 53.8% of his passes.
He bounced around a handful of teams throughout the years, but never found a starting role and did not appear in another game.
With the Mountaineers between 2017-2018, Grier threw for over 7,000 yards and 71 touchdowns, including leading one of the best offenses in the entire country during the 2018 season.
