Alvin Kamara has been one of the most eclectic running backs in the NFL ever since he entered the league. The New Orleans Saints selected Kamara in the third round (67th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.
He has spent his entire career with New Orleans, and now we know where he’ll play in 2026.

Alvin Kamara’s Team In 2026 Announced
A reworked contract for Alvin Kamara with the Saints was confirmed on Wednesday by his agent.
“Alvin’s goal, and the team’s goal, was for him to remain with the Saints and retire a Saint,” agent Brad Cicala told NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.
There were no immediate details about Kamara’s restructured contract.
This season, Kamara was set to earn up to $11.5 million in base salary, but the Saints renegotiated his contract in early March to get under the salary cap:
In March, the Saints signed former Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. to a four-year deal worth more than $12 million per year in the first three years of the deal.
Etienne’s and Kamara’s contracts made the running back position expensive in both cash value and cap space for the Saints, with $21 million in cap space devoted to the team’s seven running backs — the most in the NFL before Kamara’s revised deal.
After Etienne was signed, questions about Kamara’s future arose, as well as whether the Saints would pay both running backs. In OTAs, Kamara expressed his excitement about partnering with Etienne after playing with Latavius Murray and Mark Ingram earlier in his career.
