For most players, joining Liverpool would be a career-defining moment.
But for Victor Munoz, it might not even be the biggest moment of his summer. That's because the winger's national team, Spain, has reached this year's World Cup final. While Munoz is not expected to start Sunday's game, he's still got a great chance of walking away from New Jersey with the biggest prize in soccer.
While Liverpool will be the furthest thing from Munoz's mind right now — and understandably so — the Reds still could have a big role to play here. Joining a new team, especially one in a foreign country, is daunting for any player.
It's the first time Munoz will play overseas during his professional career, and at just 23 years old, he'll surely be a mix of nerves and excitement heading into his Reds debut.
Yet Liverpool will have the chance to give Munoz the perfect welcome if Spain pulls off a win on Sunday. The Reds only need to look at Brighton's blueprint.

Dozens of staff members and players gathered in the reception area to applaud and cheer Mac Allister as he walked through the doors. There were Argentinian flags hanging from the walls and a replica of the World Cup trophy waiting for the superstar to lift.
As Mac Allister picked up the biggest prize in soccer, blue and white confetti streamed across the building and everyone cheered. It was an amazing reception for Mac Allister and one that confirmed the unity among the players and coaching staff.
If Munoz follows in Mac Allister's footsteps and becomes a world champion, Liverpool could give the young Spaniard a similar reception on his first day at Kirkby. That would certainly make him feel at home on Merseyside.
The Reds secured Munoz's services for a bargain price after activating his €40 million ($45 million) release clause at Osasuna earlier this summer. Club chiefs believe the talent could blossom into one of Europe's top players after a decent campaign at his former club.
Munoz scored seven goals and provided five assists for Osasuna last season to earn a spot in Spain's World Cup squad and capture Liverpool's attention. He's looking forward to playing in front of the Kop, one of soccer's grandest stages, over the coming weeks.

"The truth is, it all happened very quickly, but, well, when an opportunity like this comes along, you just can't let it slip by," Munoz told EFE about his move to Liverpool.
"It's something unique to be able to play there at Anfield, and both me and my family had absolutely no doubts. The truth is, it's a chapter for my future that could be really special. I'm really looking forward to it."
But before arriving at Anfield, Munoz will be desperate to get over the line in New Jersey. If he does that, the Reds know exactly what they could do to make him feel immediately adored.
