Jeremy Jacquet‘s Liverpool squad number has been confirmed, with the French centre-back taking the shirt vacated by countryman Ibrahima Konate.
Jacquet will wear the No. 5 shirt for Liverpool, with the club confirming the news after the start of pre-season.
He immediately fills the squad number vacated by Konate upon the Frenchman’s free transfer to Real Madrid this summer.
Gini Wijnaldum, Daniel Agger, Milan Baros and Mark Wright are among the other players to wear the No. 5 in the Premier League era.

It comes with the £60 million signing from Rennes expected to immediately take up first-choice starting duties alongside Virgil van Dijk.
There is considerable pressure on Jacquet, then, with the 21-year-old arriving after shoulder surgery ended his season early last time out and having only played 57 times at club level in his senior career to date.
Liverpool are yet to announce the squad number for their only other summer signing so far, but Victor Munoz has a variety to select from.
Which Liverpool squad numbers are still available?

Among those still available are: No. 11, No. 13, No. 16, No. 23, No. 24 and No. 26.
Munoz wore the No. 21 at Osasuna and No. 44 at Real Madrid before that, while for Spain he has worn the No. 25 shirt – those numbers are currently taken by Kostas Tsimikas, Luke Chambers and Giorgi Mamardashvili at Liverpool.
There could also be changes to numbers for those already in the squad, including Rio Ngumoha, who was assigned the No. 73 upon his promotion to the first team.
It stands to reason that Ngumoha, who is likely to continue his rise to prominence under Andoni Iraola this season, could take a lower shirt number to reflect his standing within the squad.

The 17-year-old has previously expressed his desire to take the No. 11 last worn by the legendary Mohamed Salah, telling Sky Sports: “Seventy-three holds a special place in my heart, obviously the first number I received. It was just random.
“But my dream number would be 11. Watching Neymar play for Barcelona and Mo obviously has broken all the records with No. 11.”
Last summer saw two similar changes, with Conor Bradley swapping the No. 84 for his new No. 12 and Trey Nyoni switching from No. 98 to No. 42.
