Dominik Szoboszlai is set to sign a new long-term contract at Liverpool, with the No. 8 extending his stay at Anfield after taking up key status in the squad.
Szoboszlai is now expected put pen to paper on a new deal at Anfield, having entered the final two years of his current contract.
It will end speculation over the midfielder’s future and cement him as one of the most important players of a new era under Andoni Iraola.
This commitment comes after lengthy negotiations between Liverpool and his agent Matyas Esterhazy, rewarding his rise since a £60 million move from RB Leipzig in 2023.
In 147 appearances for the club so far, Szoboszlai has scored 28 goals and laid on 26 assists, including 13 goals and 12 assists in 53 games last season.

That included four direct free-kicks, with the Hungarian’s ability from set-pieces enhancing his reputation as one of the standout players in the squad.
With Andy Robertson departing the club this summer, Szoboszlai’s focal status also makes him a convincing candidate to take on the vice-captaincy.
Already captain of the Hungary national team, there is a sense that the 25-year-old could eventually succeed Virgil van Dijk as Liverpool’s next man in the armband.
Having appeared to flirt with the possibility of a move to Real Madrid, that Szoboszlai is due to extend his contract for the long term should put to bed any immediate doubts over his commitment to the cause on Merseyside.

Liverpool’s successful talks with their No. 8 come after a new deal for Ryan Gravenberch, who is now tied to the club until 2032.
No such decision has been taken when it comes to their fellow midfield regular Alexis Mac Allister, with the Argentine one of 15 players whose contracts expire within the next two years.
Van Dijk, Alisson, Curtis Jones, Joe Gomez, Harvey Elliott, Kostas Tsimikas, Wataru Endo, Freddie Woodman, Stefan Bajcetic, Calvin Ramsay and Harvey Davies could all leave for free in 2027.
Rio Ngumoha – who is expected to sign a significantly longer contract when he turns 18 in August – is currently contracted to 2028 along with Mac Allister, Federico Chiesa and Vitezslav Jaros.
