Tom Brady knows what greatness is all about. Still, the seven-time Super Bowl champion watched Lionel Messi do it again Wednesday and could not believe his eyes.
Argentinasurvived another heart-stopper at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They defeated England 2-1 in the semifinal at Atlanta Stadium.
England struck first. Anthony Gordon tapped home Morgan Rogers’ cross in the 55th minute to give the Three Lions the lead.
But Argentina refused to fold. Enzo Fernandez tied the game with a thunderous long-range strike in the 85th minute. Lautaro Martinez then headed home in the 92nd minute to send Argentina through.
Messi assisted on both goals in his first-ever meeting with England on the international stage.
Brady, who has been enjoying the tournament as a spectator, could not believe what he witnessed.He shared a three-word reaction on X, along with a mind-blown emoji.

Tom Brady Gearing Up for Year 3 as Fox Sports Analyst
Brady trades the gridironfor the broadcast boothonce again in 2026. The three-time NFL MVP is entering his third season as Fox Sports’ lead NFL color commentator. His 10-year, $375 million deal with the network keeps him calling games through the decade.
Year 1 was a learning curve. Brady leaned too heavily on scripted notes and struggled to find his rhythm on air.
He stripped it back heading into his sophomore campaign and treated the booth like a film room. He masterfully broke down matchups and built weekly game plans.
Amid Brady’s noticeable improvements, Fox averaged 18.7 million viewers per game in 2025-26. It marked a 6% year-over-year increase and the network’s second-best figure since 1988.
The NFL rewarded his growth by giving him more room to operate in 2026. Brady gains access to production meetings. Practice attendance, however, remains off limits.

Brady also has a homecoming penciled in. He returns to Foxborough as a broadcaster for the first time in Week 9, calling the New England Patriots-Green Bay Packers game on Nov. 9.
