Liverpool are believed to have made enquiries about signing Bournemouth forward Rayan this summer, with the Brazilian a player whom Andoni Iraola knows well.
With the 2026 World Cup slowly reaching its conclusion, the Reds’ transfer plans may go up a notch, with Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz the only signings to date.
Munoz may be a winger, but at least one more addition is needed in that area, with Yan Diomande, Bradley Barcola and Desire Doue among those mentioned in recent weeks, including by former Liverpool left-back Stephen Warnock:
“I don’t think Liverpool are in a position right now where they can buy another Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane-type project and hope they become elite. I think Liverpool need to buy players who are ready to go and perform immediately.
“For me, I’d look at Barcola or Desire Doue if Liverpool could somehow get either of them. If they can’t, they’ll have to try and unearth another gem and hope he develops into that player.”
Now, TEAMtalk claim that Liverpool have “made enquiries” over the availability of Rayan in the summer transfer window, with the Reds continuing to explore “long-term replacements for Mohamed Salah”.
The 19-year-old “is a player they have discussed extensively” with Iraola, with the Spaniard working alongside him successfully at Bournemouth last season.
Rayan could be a potential “future star” at Liverpool
Rayan is a big talent who has already made his mark in the Premier League, scoring five goals last season, and he also made three starts for Brazil at the World Cup.
He is predominantly a right winger, which would make him a natural heir to Salah in that position, but he is also versatile enough to excel on the left flank and centrally, being lauded by Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti:
“Rayan is a powerful, disciplined player with quality and a good attitude on the field. He’s performed very well in a difficult league like the Premier League. I believe he’s young and that he’s a future star for the national team.”
With Diomande potentially off to Paris Saint-Germain, Rayan stands out as a great alternative for Liverpool, and while he is still young and raw, he can make an immediate impression at Anfield.
