AC Milan are considering a big-name signing after the club-record arrival of Gonçalo Ramos, and Phil Foden is the target.
According to SportMediaset, Milan have set their sights on Foden for the playmaker role. For now it’s just a dream, but Claudio Raimondi reveals it could become reality if Rafael Leao is sold for a hefty sum, with the aim being north of €50m.

Milan hang onto Foden dream
Foden’s name is a hot topic at Casa Milan, although for now there have been no contacts with the player’s entourage, who is also being pursued by Atletico Madrid and Galatasaray.
Foden is therefore just a suggestion for Milan, but they could find a surprise ally in Enzo Maresca, the new Manchester City manager. The Italian wants Enzo Fernandez from his old club Chelsea, and the Argentine’s arrival would further reduce Foden’s role.
He is valued at around €60m and Milan are keeping an eye on the matter, aware that the City academy graduate’s salary isn’t an insurmountable obstacle. The Englishman – who missed the World Cup- earns around €7m net per season.
This is slightly more than Leao gets at the moment, and this is why the Portuguese’s departure could really help Foden’s arrival, both in terms of generating the funds for the transfer fee and freeing up the space on the wage bill.
Foden’s record with City – for whom he made his debut as a teenager – is very impressive. He has 110 goals and 68 assists in 369 games for them, across all competitions. In 2023-24 he was arguably the best player in the Premier League, with 19 goals and eight assists in 35 games.
