The Detroit Lions have one of the most underrated wide receiver cores in the NFL with Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams. Williams is the second option in this offense. There are times where Williams has good games and times where he does not.

During the 2025 NFL season, he caught 65 passes for 1,117 yards receiving, and seven touchdowns, along with averaging 17.2 yards per reception. Williams was targeted 102 times. He also rushed for 12 yards on six carries and zero touchdowns, along with averaging 2.0 yards per carry. Williams is 25 years old.

Williams was not ranked in the ESPN.com Top 10 wide receivers list entering the 2026 NFL season, but he was one of the few other wide receivers to potentially keep an eye on. One NFL coordinator interviewed with ESPN NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler about his game. That NFL coordinator said about the Lions second wide receiver,
“He can fly and is slippery. His speed opens up intermediate cuts. Getting in and out of breaks is not natural to him, but he’s improved there. He goes across the field, uses all 53 yards. Hands aren’t as consistent.”
Dropping passes has been a concern for him during his NFL career. It was good that both Lions star wide receivers went over 1,000 yards receiving in 2025. There is a chance that Williams and St. Brown both go over 1,000 yards receiving again in 2026. Detroit’s offense is very talented. They should be able to win more than nine games next season and get back into the playoffs.
