‘He Changes the Coverages’: NFL Coordinator Believes WR A.J. Brown Will Change the Dynamic of…

The New England Patriots traded for wide receiver A.J. Brown this off-season. Brown was traded away from the Philadelphia Eagles. He is reunited with head coach Mike Vrabel. They were once together on the Tennessee Titans.

Brown is going to be a major help for Patriots quarterback Drake Maye. Even though New England went 14-3 last season and made a Super Bowl appearance, they didn’t have an elite wide receiver on the roster. Brown is a true number one wide receiver. When he was with Philadelphia last season, Brown caught 78 passes for 1,003 yards receiving and seven touchdowns, along with averaging 12.9 yards per reception. He was targeted 121 times. Some people think Brown leaving Jalen Hurts and the Eagles will be a good thing for him.

There is no doubt that Brown is a Top 10 wide receiver in the NFL. He was ranked as the ninth-best wide receiver on NFL.com. One NFL coordinator interviewed with ESPN.com NFL Insider Jeremy Fowler about the top wide receivers in the NFL. He said about Brown being on the Patriots,

“He changes the coverages people play, everything will be rolled his way, and it will lighten the box for Josh [McDaniels] to really get the run game going. He gives them run-after-catch explosion and isolation down the field on 50-50 plays that they didn’t have.”

There is no question that Maye will try and force feed the football to Brown this season. He will no doubt be the number one wide receiver in this offense. It will make everyone else in the offense look better. Romeo Doubs and Kayshon Boutte will be the other starting wide receivers. The wide receiver corps and the offensive line will be improved for New England.

The only thing that may not go there way this season is a tougher schedule. Brown is 29 years old and he is still in his prime here.
