**Reports from Germany suggest that RB Leipzig will now hold on to Yan Diomande for at least another season, although there is one remaining way the Reds could sign the teenager this summer.**
Back in July, the ever-reliable David Ornstein reported for The Athletic that Liverpool were no longer in contention to sign Diomande after the Ivorian made it clear that he preferred a move to PSG this summer.
Now, claims from German outlet [BILD](https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/rb-leipzig-wie-er-gehalten-werden-soll-geheim-plan-fuer-bundesliga-star-yan-diomande-6a560f94327771d6e72e53a2) have poured cold water over all Diomande-related transfer rumours.
Leipzig reportedly no longer intend to allow Diomande to leave this summer, and only a move delayed to the summer of 2027 will be sanctioned by the Bundesliga outfit.
Journalist Yvonne Gabriel writes: “_A sale for more than €100 million is still possible – but only with one option: a loan back to Leipzig.”_
The situation has been described as akin to the £48m move agreed for Naby Keita in August 2018. The Guinean then joined Liverpool the following summer on 1 July after an undisclosed premium was paid to Leipzig to beat the competition to Keita’s signature.

Now, the only remaining way to sign him this summer would involve a year-long loan back to Leipzig.

When the Diomande hunt fell through, Liverpool quickly redirected their interest to Barcola. The 23-year-old is arguably the better target for the Reds this summer, but now FSG may fail to land either target for new manager Andoni Iraola.
But if the Diomande domino doesn’t fall, neither will the Barcola one based on recent reports on the PSG attacker.
PSG are at a contract impasse with Barcola, who has two years remaining on his contract in Paris, and so a decision must be made soon on how to handle the situation.
Barcola wants more game time (which Liverpool can offer) but his competition on the wing, Kvicha Kvaratskhelia, means he is unlikely to get the minutes he wants in France.
