There was some talk earlier in the week that Mohamed Salah could end up back at Chelsea with his next club still to be revealed.
Until his destination is confirmed, the chatter will continue, but going to Chelsea feels unlikely, and ex-Stamford Bridge favorite Joe Cole — who also played for Liverpool — says he wouldn't want to see the Egyptian move back to West London.
Salah, of course, played for the Blues under Jose Mourinho before his career really took off when he moved to Italy, first with Fiorentina and then AS Roma.
"It’s a difficult one because his numbers dropped off and his form dropped off," Cole told Paddy Power. "Any position apart from a wide midfielder or winger, I think you can take experience in. But Salah really seemed to drop off a level from the season before.
"I wouldn’t be in a position where I’d bite your hand off and think it’s an absolute no-brainer getting Mo Salah.
"Also, just getting a senior, experienced player doesn’t mean you’re getting the right player for the dressing room. He handled his exit from Liverpool poorly, with the comments about Arne Slot after games and all that.

"For somebody who was at Liverpool for as long as he was, he struck me as the type of player who would always take the high ground and gone out just letting it all be, so I’m not sure if he is the right person for Chelsea to be honest."
In December, Salah spoke out in the mixed zone at Leeds United and said someone wanted him out at Liverpool.
He then confirmed his summer departure during the March international break.
"I feel to go through the season, this is the right thing to do now, and I have peace with it," he said in an interview with former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard on TNT Sports.

Liverpool.com says: Salah moving elsewhere in the Premier League feels highly unlikely. Turkish clubs (and obviously those in Saudi Arabia and MLS) have also been linked, and that seems much more realistic.
Given his salary, it would take a club willing to invest heavily in the 34-year-old, who did not hit his usual heights last term.
