After the completion of the Illan Meslier and Piero Hincapie deals this summer transfer window, Arsenal have reached an agreement with Club Brugge to sign Greek winger Christos Tzolis for a fee of £34 million.
The 24-year-old made it clear that he is only open to joining the Premier League champions, despite other European clubs showing interest.
Leandro Trossard's €20 million transfer to Besiktas opened the door for Tzolis' arrival at Arsenal.
The move for Tzolis is separate from Arsenal's bid to sign at least one high-profile forward this summer.
Tzolis brings elite numbers to Arsenal
Tzolis is set to join Arsenal after producing the best performance of his career at Club Brugge.
In all competitions, the forward scored 22 goals and produced 29 assists in 52 appearances in the 2025/26 season.
His numbers made him one of Europe's most productive attackers alongside Michael Olise, Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe.
Although the Premier League is more intense than the Belgian Pro League, it is difficult to ignore his output, especially given that Arsenal are looking for productive attacking players.
The redemption of Christos Tzolis
Norwich fans remember Tzolis for his brief spell at Carrow Road. The Greek, who was a highly-rated teenager, arrived at the club with high expectations in 2021.
However, he struggled to adapt, and then-manager Daniel Farke did not give him regular minutes.
Tzolis signed for Fortuna Düsseldorf on loan in 2023 and finished as the 2. Bundesliga's top scorer with 22 goals.
His performances at Fortuna earned a permanent transfer to Club Brugge in the summer of 2024, and he eventually turned out to be one of the best performers in Belgium.
More attacking signings expected at Arsenal
Arsenal are not yet done with their summer transfer business. Morgan Rogers is one of the names the Gunners are exploring to strengthen the attack.
Rogers is seen as a top target for the left-wing position, and the Tzolis deal does not affect any potential attacking signings by the club.
