While England fans will be recovering from their World Cup semi-final heartbreak, some supporters may find excitement in their clubs’ transfer activity as the summer window gathers pace.

With only two World Cup matches remaining, the transfer market is now in full swing, with several Premier League clubs working on major deals.

Having watched Julian Alvarez face England in the semi-final, Premier League fans could see more of the Argentina international next season, with Arsenal reportedly considering an ambitious swap deal to bring him to the Emirates Stadium. Bradley Barcola also remains linked with a potential move to England.

Manchester United have started to show their financial strength in the market, but further moves are expected before the window closes.

Meanwhile, Liverpool had been linked with a move for AS Roma defender Zeki Celik on a free transfer, but the Turkey international has now completed a move to Juventus.

The 29-year-old right wing-back, whose contract with Roma was due to expire at the end of June, had also attracted interest from Manchester City.

Juventus have officially confirmed the signing of Celik, with the defender agreeing a contract that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2029.

Celik had been expected to extend his stay at Roma, but those plans changed before he completed his move to Juventus.

Celik arrives in Turin with significant experience from spells in France and Italy. After establishing himself in Turkey, he spent four seasons at Lille, where he won the Ligue 1 title and French Super Cup before moving to Roma in 2022.

His time in Serie A further enhanced his reputation, while he has also become an important figure for Turkey, having previously captained his national team.

A club statement read: “Zeki Celik is a new Juventus player. The Turkish wing-back has signed a contract that will keep him at the Bianconeri until 30 June 2029. “Welcome to Juventus, Zeki!”
