Man Who Killed Ray Rice’s Father Facing Another Murder Charge

There are disturbing criminal ties between a New York man accused of murdering his niece and the family of a former NFL star.

It was reported on Monday that 58-year-old Michael Foster shot his niece Julia Anderson to death outside her workplace in the Bronx.

According to investigators, the deadly encounter was sparked by a long-running dispute over family property.

According to the New York Post, Foster allegedly shot the 39-year-old several times as she was getting into her Jeep. Ray Rice, a former Baltimore Ravens running back, has been linked to the case.

Rice’s father, Calvin Reed, was killed by a drive-by in 1988, according to criminal records in New York state corrections. When Rice’s father died, he was just a toddler.

Foster was convicted of manslaughter in the first degree later that year. He received a four-to-20-year prison sentence.

Foster was denied parole three times before he was released in 1999, according to state records.

It appears that the latest charges stem from an alleged property dispute involving a home in Mount Vernon, New York.

Before the shooting, Foster and Anderson were involved in legal proceedings over ownership of the residence.
