Roony Bardghji
Everton are the latest club to join the race to sign Barcelona’s Roony Bardghji this summer.
The winger’s future remains uncertain, and Everton are among the clubs willing to offer him an escape route.
Barcelona invested €2.5m to sign him from FC Copenhagen in July 2025, and Bardghji had to settle for a backup role. He managed two goals and four assists from 872 minutes from 28 matches.
Four days ago, Sport Witness relayed news he has requested to leave, and Hansi Flick’s side are willing to sanction a move. Aston Villa, Leeds United, Sunderland, Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion are his suitors from the Premier League.
Everton contact for Barcelona player
Friday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo again names the aforementioned five English clubs and adds Everton to that list.
These six Premier League sides have made contact to ask about the 20-year-old. It’s not clear whether they approached his agent, the La Liga winners or both.
Everton and others will face tough competition as clubs from five other leagues are in the picture to sign him. This includes Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Marseille, FC Porto and Ajax.
Roony Bardghji hasn’t made the final decision yet and is still evaluating offers. His wish is to go out on loan this summer.
Barca want transfer completed before July 27th
The Sweden international has realised he won’t have a role under Hansi Flick, after holding fresh talks with the manager.
Therefore, he will leave either on loan or a permanent transfer. If it’s the latter, Barcelona want to include a buyback option.
With Everton and several other clubs in the mix, Barcelona are working to the find the best option.
The Catalan club will travel to England on July 27th, for the pre-season tour. Four days later, they have a friendly against Birmingham City.
Barca want Roony Bardghji’s exit sorted soon and will try to finalise it before their trip to England, meaning in 10 days.
He would favour a club that will assure him a prominent role next season.
David Moyes’ side must quickly convince both the player and Barcelona to win the race for his signature.
