The agent of Mohamed Salah, Ramy Abbas Issa, has provided a rare update on his client.

Speculation on the 34-year-old has reached new heights after Egypt were knocked out of the World Cup at the hands of Argentina in the round of 16.

MLS and Saudi Arabia have been touted as his next most likely destinations after leaving Liverpool. Besiktas fans chanted his name during the unveiling of Leandro Trossard on Thursday evening.

Beşiktaş president Serdar Adali dismissed the growing noise around a Salah deal this week, telling Winwin in a brief statement: “It is not true that we are interested in signing Mohamed Salah this summer.”

Meanwhile, it seems that his representative is tapering expectations.

The agent has built a reputation for challenging reports he feels are wide of the mark, previously warning supporters to “beware” of attention-seekers trying to cash in on Salah’s name and insisting that anyone claiming to know his next club is simply guessing.

Taking to X, Ramy Abbas Issa has stated that it’s not yet known where Salah will play next – but that a decision could come “very soon”:

“We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season but we may know very soon.”

“It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn’t want to play for, just for the sake of noise.”

This isn’t the first occasion on which he’s had to publicly step in and challenge inaccurate reports about Salah’s next move, and the Egyptian’s camp are intent on controlling the narrative and not letting rumours dominate the headlines.

Liverpool fans will be watching where Salah ends up closely, with many no doubt hoping that the Liverpool legend continues his career somewhere in Europe at the highest level.

We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season but we may know very soon 🙂
