Any suggestion Liverpool could execute a late move for West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen has been quashed, with the 29-year-old now agreeing a new contract.
Bowen was touted as a realistic target for Liverpool as West Ham headed for relegation in May, with claims of “growing interest” from Anfield.
The England international has now moved to dismiss all speculation over his future, signing a new, revised contract with the London club.
The Athletic‘s Roshane Thomas reports that Bowen’s new deal is not an extension, but simply restructures the terms that were in place when West Ham were in the Premier League.
It ensures his commitment for the 2026/27 campaign as the Hammers look to secure an immediate return to the top flight.
Liverpool interest in Jarrod Bowen explained

Liverpool’s interest in Bowen is historic, having considered a move as far back as 2021, and he has only further established himself as a proven, Premier League-level forward in the years since then.
There was a convincing argument for the Reds to pursue a cut-price deal despite the versatile forward turning 30 later this year.
With a scarcity of options on the market to replace Mohamed Salah, a move for Bowen could have provided an upgrade on Federico Chiesa while allowing more time to consider a longer-term solution.
Furthermore, Bowen qualifies a homegrown player in the Premier League which would have boosted Liverpool’s quota as they consider bids for the local-born Curtis Jones.
But his commitment to West Ham is certainly admirable at a time when player power is growing and loyalty appears to have less value.

“I did an interview after the [last] game and said my vision is to get this club back in the Premier League,” Bowen told West Ham‘s official website.
“Sometimes you think it falls on deaf ears and people say ‘he’s just saying that’. There have been things written and different things said and you have to look at it and bite your tongue sometimes.
“But when I say something, I don’t hide away from it.
“For me, the main thing is to get this club back into the Premier League and speak to people in the club about what we want to do moving forward as a Club for the better of the club.
“It was a no-brainer for me to be here and the vision is clear, it’s the Premier League.”
