Maxx Crosby established himself as a standout defensive end in the NFL. He has faced the best quarterbacks in the league today, including Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Crosby made a lot of headlines this offseason after the Las Vegas Raiders agreed to trade him on March 7. However, the Baltimore Ravens backed out of the deal three days later, reportedly due to his failed physical. The star pass rusher will remain with the AFC West team in 2026 and will play with a retooled roster.
The five-time Pro Bowler recorded 73 combined tackles consisting of 28 assisted and 45 solo efforts last season. He added 10.0 sacks, 28 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.

Maxx Crosby’s Comments About Baker Mayfield Receive Reaction From Buccaneers
Crosby’s video, in which he named Mayfield as one of the most difficult quarterbacks to take down, was shared on Instagram by Tampa Bay. The team highlighted his comments in the caption.
“Maxx Crosby says Baker Mayfield is one of the toughest NFL QBs to take down 💪,” the Buccaneers wrote.
Mayfield played all 17 regular-season games last season.He completed 343-of-543 passes for 3,693 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. The two-time Pro Bowler added 55 rushing attempts for 382 yards and one score.
However, his solid play wasn’t enough to lead his team to the playoffs. The team finished second in the NFC South with an 8-9 record. Opponents sacked Mayfield 36 times in 2025, but none came from Crosby.
The Raiders star will look to put the failed offseason trade saga behind him and perform again at his best next season. While it’s possible that he could stillbe moved, he’ll have new teammates as the franchise strengthened its roster.
Kirk Cousins and Fernando Mendoza will likely split the QB1 duties. Crosby’s unit, on the other hand, was bolstered with the addition of Nakobe Dean, Quay Walker, Kwity Paye and Segun Olubi in free agency.
