Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has signed a new five-year deal with the club after a standout season at Anfield, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
In a season when the Reds struggled, the 25-year-old contributed 13 goals and 12 assists across all competitions - those included strikes against Manchester United, Manchester City, Inter Milan and Marseille.
Now, the Hungary international has committed his long-term future to the Merseyside outfit, as they look to bounce back from a disappointing 2025-26 season and compete strongly in the Premier League and Champions League again.

While the club are yet to confirm the contract extension, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano gave the reports his trademark 'here we go' treatment, suggesting that an official announcement would be imminent.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: "Also important to say, guys, on Liverpool, one of the stories of the day: Dominik Szoboszlai signs new deal at Liverpool, and it's here we go. It's done. It's all confirmed. Five-year deal for Dominik Szoboszlai, who will be one of the best-paid players in the Liverpool squad.
"A very important contract, a very important salary. But let me say, I think it's fantastic news for Liverpool. Szoboszlai has been incredible in a very difficult season for almost all players at Liverpool. It's been a bad season for many top players. Szoboszlai was probably the only one who was performing at the highest level possible."
Szoboszlai signed for Liverpool from RB Leipzig on a £60 million transfer in 2023 and has become one of the top-rated players in the Premier League, with former Reds boss Arne Slot describing him as the 'best in the world' in terms of pressing.
Romano adds to his report that if Liverpool had not landed a contract extension, Szoboszlai would have become a top target for European clubs this summer. Real Madrid are believed to have been monitoring the case as the Spanish giants look to strengthen in the centre of the park.
The midfielder is now set to stay at Anfield until 2031 with a deal now finalised after talks with the player's representatives began earlier this year.

Just as Szoboszlai had been, the Argentine international is entering the final two years of his deal at Anfield. There are not yet believed to be talks over an extension for the 27-year-old, who played the full 90 minutes as England were dumped out of the World Cup on Wednesday night.
Mac Allister was one of the Liverpool players who failed to hit his own lofty heights last season and there have been claims of interest in the player from Real Madrid. Those links could be strengthened as the club prioritises negotiations with other midfielders.
