Ahhh, let's get marose shall we? How old are you? How long have you waited for the Lions to win the big one?
I was born in January of 1956 on the heals of the teams last championship, so technically no one has waited longer than I have to see the Lions become a champion again - or ever. Every year I think about how good our players would be and how likely or not they'd win, but much more often than not, they tended to lose.
For the past few years it feels different. I keep thinking we're right on the cusp of seizing the glory of victory over all. Of course, I've been disappointed. Heck, it's only been 70 years...
On a positive note, I'm relatively fit and healthy. Sure, I had a stroke this spring and went into the hospital for the very first time ever, but I came out after a few days AOK. I didn't really have an all natural stroke, I mean it was caused because my heart was stopped to overcome tachocardia. After they stop your heart an electric shock should put you back into normal rthym.
The danger is that when your heart is stopped your blood stops moving and it can coagulate. If that happens and it goes to your brain, OH OH... Fortunately, the clot didn't block all of my blood flow and I was alright after a few days. YEAH!
Is it strange to look at things a bit differently after you've been a bit scared about your life and future? One of those weird things is wondering will the Lions ever win a Super Bowl? Ever is a relative term, I guess. Ever to me means while I'm alive.
My post here won't really matter in the scheme of things as to whether or not they will win it. I wonder though, will they or won't they? Do you ever think about it that way?
Does it matter to you? Should it matter to me? Hmmmmm... Well, still I wonder will they win one, or not?
I hope that somehow, in some way, just maybe, I really, really hope that they do. What do you think? Will Goff be the best QB ever; will Hutch lead the D to glory; can Penei be the OL leader that makes the difference; does Saint have even more in the tank; is Jamo really special; can Gibbs be the best; and, is Campbell ready to prove he's definitely not a meat head? Is there a Ford getting a trophy in our future?
