Mohamed Salah’s has reportedly received a new offer – although predictably there is now conflicting reports on the matter.
It comes after Kansas City in the MLS reportedly offered a two-year deal to the Egyptian. Sporting Kansas’ new majority owner Peter Mallouk, whose parents are Egyptian immigrants, could also be a factor in the club’s pursuit of the Liverpool legend.
The agent of Mohamed Salah meanwhile, Ramy Abbas Issa, put out a statement this Friday in response to all the speculation – saying:
“We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season but we may know very soon.”
“It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn’t want to play for, just for the speculation.”
But now fresh speculation has arrived, with reports in Turkey asserting that Beşiktaş has made an offer to the 34-year-old.
Leandro Trossard’s unveiling at the club was overshadowed by the fanbase chanting “Oh God, in the name of God, Mohamed Salah!”
Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu has reported that the former Liverpool winger has lowered his salary demands previously set at 15 million euros and that his “lawyer” is already in Istanbul to continue negotiations:
“Beşiktaş has made its first offer to Mohamed Salah. In the initial meeting, Salah, who demanded an annual salary of 15 million euros, lowered his salary expectations to join Beşiktaş. The player’s lawyer has arrived in Istanbul.”
However, slightly conflicting information has been doing the rounds this week regarding this transfer in particular.
Beşiktaş president Serdar Adali dismissed the growing noise around a Salah deal this week, telling Winwin in a brief statement: “It is not true that we are interested in signing Mohamed Salah this summer”
So, it remains to be seen whether which side is the actual truth this summer.
