**Is Julian Alvarez a realistic target for Liverpool?**

In truth, it would be a huge shock if Liverpool signed Alvarez, given his price tag and the fact that other clubs appear to be more likely to acquire his signature.
That’s not to say that he wouldn’t be an outstanding addition for the Reds, though, considering he is one of the world’s best strikers, with [Sergio Aguero](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/astonishing-julian-alvarez-praised-enormous-sacrifice-argentine-legend-sergio-aguero-barcelona-transfer-talk/blt1f84452984ff4891) hailing his selfless style of play:

Liverpool need to use their transfer funds on more pressing positions such as right-back, central midfield and attacking wide areas, with record signing Alexander Isak hopefully finding his best form leading the line.
Alvarez would likely be fantastic for the Reds, possessing so many of the attributes that Andoni Iraola would admire, but it is now more a case of hoping he doesn’t join a direct rival than expecting him to head to Anfield.
