The Lakers have announced Albert, a personal finance app, as their new jersey patch sponsor, replacing Bibigo beginning with the 2026-27 season.
The Los Angeles Lakers are set to make a notable change to their uniforms ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season.
The franchise officially announced that Albert, a personal finance app, will replace Bibigo as the team's jersey patch sponsor beginning next season.
The Albert logo will appear on the upper-left chest of all four Lakers uniform designs: the gold Icon Edition, purple Statement Edition, white Association Edition, and black City Edition.
The partnership will provide Albert with year-round exposure through live games, national and local television broadcasts, highlights, photography, and other team-related content.
"The Lakers have built an extraordinary legacy of championship basketball over the years that has made the purple and gold one of the most popular teams in the world, and the jersey one of the most iconic pieces of apparel in sports," Lakers governor Jeanie Buss said in official statement.
"Generation after generation, we have seen the greatest players in the world wear the Lakers jersey. The uniform is an extension of the team and represents the very best of this franchise.
"With each new season, when I first see players in the iconic gold uniform, I'm filled with deep pride, gratitude for the past, and excitement for the future. We couldn't be more proud to place Albert on the Lakers jersey and give our amazing fans visibility to their personal finance products."
New sponsor brings major financial boost
The new partnership is also expected to provide the Lakers with a significant financial boost.
According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, the agreement carries an annual value of more than $30 million.
Bibigo had served as the Lakers' jersey patch sponsor since the 2021-22 season under a five-year agreement reportedly worth more than $100 million, or approximately $20 million annually.
The new Albert partnership would therefore represent an increase of at least $10 million per season in sponsorship revenue.
