West Ham Women have signed France international forward Kelly Gago from Everton on a three-year contract.

The striker, who has 14 caps and three goals for her country, scored ten goals in 30 appearances across all competitions for the Toffees.

She spent six seasons at Saint-Étienne, netting 44 times in 91 appearances and helping them achieve promotion to the top flight.

Gago also scored 15 goals in 30 games during a stint in Italy with Sampdoria, before a move to Nantes.

Gago told whufc.com: “I’m very happy to be joining West Ham United. The family-feel of the club really appealed to me, and I’m excited to join that family.

“I’m going to give everything in order to help the team reach our ambitions, and I’m really looking forward to getting started in Claret and Blue.”

Head coach Rita Guarino said: “I’m really pleased to bring Kelly to West Ham United.

“She is somebody that I saw when she was playing in Italy many years ago, and I have kept an eye on her progress since then.

“Kelly is a forward with pace, power and an eye for goal. She will complement our existing attacking options and bring valuable experience to our squad.”
