Predictably, it’s been another slow news week regarding the Pittsburgh Steelers. But the final week of the offseason is about to be upon us.
After this weekend, there will be one more full week until the team takes the field in Latrobe. An offseason that has seen a ton of change now gives us a new version of the Steelers, and it will be exciting to see what that looks like.
In the meantime, there has been something to talk about. In the wake of Mike McCarthy’s first offseason workouts, some players are already noticing differences between his tenure and Mike Tomlin’s, JJ Galbreath in particular. And toward the end of last weekend, Aaron Rodgers got together with some teammates for some bonding time before everyone reports for camp.
As the days dwindle until camp starts, potential contract extensions for Joey Porter Jr. and Keeanu Benton will be at the top of the news cycle.

Q1: Who will lead the Steelers in interceptions in 2026?
In 2025, 11 different Steelers defensive players had interceptions. But none snagged more than two passes. Steelers Depot respondents believe Jaquan Brisker will lead the Black and Gold in interceptions this season. Brisker has one INT in each of his four seasons with the Bears. Jalen Ramsey (1 2025 INT), Joey Porter Jr. (1) and Jamel Dean (3) are the only other players named more than once. Ginkgo18 is calling for a tie between Jamel Dean and Payton Wilson with three apiece.
Q2: Should the Steelers upgrade at ILB before the season starts?
Respondents believe the Steelers should not upgrade ILB before the start of the season by a 2 to 1 margin. Rock3373 says, “No. Roll with what we have. I wish they would have traded Queen but we’ll see what happens with the new coaches. Maybe he’ll return to All-Pro status.” Of course, if injuries occur during camp, all bets are off.
Q3: On a scale of 1 (not worried) to 10 (very worried), what’s your level of concern regarding the size of the Steelers’ coaching staff?
I’m at a prime age for memory loss. I swear that Steelers fans were highly concerned that the Steelers had one of the smallest coaching staffs in the NFL just a year or two ago. Now, with a new head coach, respondents rate the level of concern about the size of the staff as 1 (not worried) on a 10-point scale. As Ted Webb says, “I’ll take quality coaching over quantity.”
