JC Latham switched from playing right tackle, where he played throughout his college career at Alabama, to left tackle in his rookie season with the Tennessee Titans. Latham delivered promising results at a new position in 2024, but experienced growing pains. He committed ten penalties (15th-most among qualified tackles) and allowed 47 pressures (fifth-most), 29 hurries (sixth-most), 11 quarterback hits (second-most), and seven sacks (ninth-most) across 17 games while playing 100% of the offensive snaps.
JC Latham switched from left to right tackle in his second season following the signing of Dan Moore Jr. Latham aggravated a hip injury in Week 1, causing him to miss the next month. Upon returning, he had an up-and-down 2025 campaign, as the injury lingered and he struggled with penalties. He committed 14 penalties (most among qualified tackles) and allowed 33 pressures, 24 hurries, one quarterback hit, and eight sacks (fifth-most) across 13 starts.

JC Latham faces a pivotal third season because his health and development will be critical to the Titans’ offensive success in 2026. Cam Ward was tied for the most sacks taken (55), pressured the fourth-most (230), and was pressured at the fifth-highest rate (23.9%) last season. In addition, the running game finished with the third-fewest rushing yards, tied for the second-fewest rushing touchdowns, and tied for the tenth-fewest yards per carry in 2025. If the right tackle performs well, both the passing and running games could be set up for success.
Latham needs to show he is capable of being part of their future plans by having a strong season, as he essentially enters a de facto contract year. Lastly, his rookie contract includes a fully guaranteed 5th-year option for the 2028 season, with the decision due next May. If he can get everything together, the Titans will likely exercise the option or secure him to a long-term extension.
Latham is looking for growth in 2026
“I know I can do anything,” Latham said, via Jim Wyatt of the team’s website. “You are not going to win every rep – this is the NFL. There’s a lot of great talent, so you might lose a rep or two against some of the top players in the league.
“But one million percent I know I can do it. And I know (the team) has a lot of faith, trust and confidence in me.”
