Manchester City are in negotiations with Lille over the signing of Moroccan midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi. The Ligue 1 club have seen the stock of their player rise even more after the World Cup but a lofty price tag has not put City sporting director Hugo Viana off.
That is one of a number of significant pieces of the transfer window that is still for City to put together ahead of new coach Enzo Maresca getting pre-season training underway. The first players in the squad will be back in on Monday but Maresca has made it clear that more additions are necessary.
