The summer exodus of experienced stars like Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, and Ibrahima Konate has left a massive void at Liverpool. Losing such a wealth of talent and leadership is a heavy setback for any club and pressure is rapidly mounting on Liverpool to respond in the market.
However, business has been alarmingly quiet. With the Premier League opener against Newcastle United just over four weeks away, the solitary acquisition of Victor Munoz from Osasuna stands as the club's only incoming business. This sluggish pace has sparked fears from some fans who feel a major rebuild must be completed in a very tight window.
Today's Liverpool headlines see Salah reportedly on the verge of officially sealing a deal with his next club, while Andoni Iraola has spoken on the club's transfer ambitions.
Mo Salah targets next club
Salah's agent has hinted that the forward's next club is set to be revealed shortly. The legendary winger brought the curtain down on a nine-year spell at Anfield this summer after reaching a mutual agreement with the Reds to terminate his contract a year ahead of schedule and depart on a free transfer.
Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal have been regarded as the leading contenders. Interest has also emerged from MLS clubs in the United States and Turkish trio Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas.

The player's representitive, Ramy Abbas Issa, has indicated that Salah's next move is drawing near. Posting on social media, he said: "We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season by we may know very soon.
"It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn't want to play for, just for the sake of noise."
This follows two earlier posts by Abbas. "We do not know where Mohamed will play next season," he stated on May 24. "This also means that no one else knows. Beware of the click-w****** attention seekers."
Iraola issues transfer message
Iraola has acknowledged that Liverpool are actively pursuing a right winger. The Basque tactician also anticipates additional signings this summer as he continues to mould his squad.
The Reds have been connected with the likes of France international Bradley Barcola of PSG, Yankuba Minteh of Brighton, Koln teenager Said El Mala and Matias Fernandez-Pardo of Lille.
"We cannot expect to sign a winger that is going to replace Mo Salah because otherwise we are preparing him to fail almost," Iraola said.

"I think obviously we need someone in that area but probably will have different skills. He can maybe complement the team in another way and we are working on that, definitely. It's one of the challenges.
"Definitely there are going to be changes. A lot of senior players, players who have won everything here have left and we need other players to not replace them but assume (more responsibility) in terms of inside and outside the pitch.
"Some of the players we already have here also have to step up. They will for sure find themselves in an even more important position. And also we have to find solutions outside that can help the very good players we already have."
