According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Lissa Davis is suing her brother for fraud, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and other claims. She is seeking an unspecified amount in damages.
Lissa alleges that she asked Davis for financial help after experiencing a life-threatening health issue following the birth of her son in 2008.
According to the lawsuit, Davis encouraged her to sell her home in Northridge, California, and allegedly promised to help purchase another property through his realtors.
Lissa claims Davis asked for the title of the new house to remain in his name for tax purposes. She and her husband then reportedly invested their savings into renovating the property.
However, Lissa alleges that she learned from a third-party realtor in January 2026 that Davis was selling the house. She claims her brother had not warned her about the planned sale.
The allegations have not been proven in court.

Davis was selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the third overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft after playing college basketball at UCLA.
The point guard spent 13 seasons in the NBA and earned two All-Star selections. He also received All-NBA Third Team honors in 2004 after averaging a career-high 22.9 points, 7.5 assists, and a league-leading 2.4 steals per game for the New Orleans Hornets.
Davis also represented the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, and New York Knicks during his career.
One of his most memorable achievements came during the 2007 NBA playoffs, when he helped the eighth-seeded Warriors eliminate the top-seeded Dallas Mavericks in six games.
Davis averaged 25.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 1.8 steals during the series as Golden State completed one of the biggest upsets in NBA playoff history.
His NBA career came to an abrupt end during the Knicks' 2012 first-round playoff series against the Miami Heat.
Davis suffered a serious right knee injury in Game 4, tearing his ACL and MCL while also partially tearing his patellar tendon. He did not play another NBA game after the injury.
He later attempted a comeback and appeared in the NBA Development League in 2016, but never returned to the NBA.
Davis finished his NBA career with averages of 16.1 points, 7.2 assists, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game.
