Everton full-back Adam Aznou is on the list at PSV Eindhoven as they seek a new left-back this summer. Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Hugo Bueno has also been offered to the Dutch club.
Voetbal Primeur report information from Eindhovens Dagblad after they looked at various options to strengthen at left-back this summer.
Everton man on the list
The newspaper has put the Everton full-back at the ‘top of the list’ of options at this moment in time. According to their information, the 20-year-old was a candidate for PSV in the past and could be again this year.
However, he does not appear to be the top choice for PSV technical director Earnest Stewart this summer. They do not highlight why but do point out how he spent last season out of the picture at Everton following his arrival from Bayern Munich.
He’s instead one of many names on the list. An exit is possible this summer. Everton and PSV have done business in the past to their mutual benefit.
Jarrad Branthwaite spent a season at the Dutch club, where he established himself before returning to Everton and becoming first choice under Sean Dyche and then David Moyes.
A similar loan and experience could be beneficial to Adam Aznou, who is yet to be given a chance under Moyes.
An alternative option for PSV is Wolves full-back Hugo Bueno. According to the newspaper, he is also ‘considered as an option’ this summer.
It’s not yet clear if they will go ahead with a move for him. The former Feyenoord defender until 2028 and is valued at €12m. He would, therefore, command a fee. There’s no indication of how much PSV would be willing to pay, if anything.
They do have funds to invest in defenders this summer, with two or three targeted thanks to the funds from the sales of Ismael Saibari, Armando Obispo and Adamo Nagalo. But whether they want to pay for the Wolves man, or Everton’s left-back, remains to be seen.
