Liverpool have finalised the signing of young centre-back Isaiah Bryan from West Brom, with the teenager joining for around £200,000 amid interest from rivals.
Bryan deregistered from West Brom‘s academy this summer with the U15s defender seeking a move away from the Midlands club.
After attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs including Aston Villa, he reached an agreement to join Liverpool’s youth setup.
He is expected to join the U15s with a view to stepping up to Lewis Nightingale’s U16s in the near future, with the club due to pay a fee in the region of £200,000.
Bryan spent seven years at West Brom and due to their status as a Category One academy they are due compensation for their role in his development from foundation phase.
In a post on his Instagram confirming his move, Bryan wrote: “Proud to announce that I’m joining Liverpool Football Club.
“It’s an honour to become part of a great club. I’m grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to get started and meet my team-mates.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey.”
Who else will join Liverpool’s academy this summer?
His arrival at the AXA is the latest in a busy summer of recruitment for Liverpool’s academy, which has already seen deals agreed for centre-back Dara Jikiemi, 16, attacking midfielder Samuel Martinez, 17, and striker Michael Mulholland, 15.
Goalkeeper Noah Evans, 16, has also joined the youth ranks from Burnley, while he is expected to be followed by another goalkeeper in Wolves‘ Zach Trinder, 14, as well as Everton winger Josh Chigwada, also 14.
Liverpool are also interested in Irish attacker Joshua Holme, 14, following his departure from Shamrock Rovers, but the pursuit of Man City midfielder Xavier Parker, 16, is believed to have fallen through.
The club have tied up the long-term future of 16-year-old winger Josh Abe, who will sign his first professional deal next summer.
Abe was part of a 12-strong scholarship intake ahead of 2026/27 along with Erik Farkas, Shadrach Ekiugbo, Zak Coxon, Joseph Dixon, Japhecht Izekor Garan, Isaiah Garin, Max Hawkins, James Hilditch, Charlie Huth, Daniel Majekodunmi and Charlie Phillips.
Striker Vincent Joseph was not included in that group ahead of an expected transfer to Man United.
