Liverpool are at an advanced stage of signing Colombian starlet Samuel Martinez (17), with the young star on his way to the United Kingdom to undergo a medical.
Liverpool are closing in on the signing of highly-rated Colombian midfielder, Martinez, with the 17-year-old reportedly set to undergo a medical with the Reds, according to Colombian football expert Pipe Sierra.
He reports on X: “At this hour, Samuel Martínez (17) is traveling to the United Kingdom along with his family and his agent, Daniel Neumüller, to undergo medical exams withLiverpool. Historic transfer for the Colombian midfielder.”

With the move being described as ‘historic’ by Sierra, he is expected to become the latest South American to make the move to the Premier League.
Liverpool are yet to complete the deal, with a medical one of the final details needed to close the deal, but the Reds are doing some brilliant business for the long-term security of Andoni Iraola’s squad.
Martinez is widely regarded as one of Colombia and, indeed, the world’s most promising young talents. His arrival would continue Liverpool’s recent strategy of recruiting highly-rated teenagers from around the world before integrating them into their way of doing things.
As with any transfer, the deal will not be considered complete until all paperwork is finalised and signed by all relevant parties, but it does seem as though this one will get done given how advanced it is.
At that point, an announcement will be made by Liverpool.
