Everton full-back Adam Aznou is the ‘leading candidate’ for PSV Eindhoven as they seek a replacement for Anass Salah-Eddine.
Africa Foot report that the 20-year-old is high on their list as they look to sign a left-back this summer.
PSV interest is genuine
Sport Witness covered a report from the Netherlands yesterday stating that Adam Aznou was on PSV Eindhoven’s list. That, though, insisted he was just one of several being assessed.
Africa Foot go one further. They state that, according to their exclusive information, Aznou is the leading candidate for the Dutch club. They report that the left-back continues to attract keen interest in the Netherlands.
The Dutch champions are ‘particularly impressed’ by the Moroccan international’s profile. They value that he came through the ranks at La Masia.
PSV believe that he possesses ‘technical ability, footballing intelligence and an ability to get forward. They feel these are well suited to the style of play they adopt.
Everton absence not a concern
They also believe that the youngster has plenty of room for improvement. His lack of playing time for Everton last season, after joining from Bayern Munich, is not a concern either.
Indeed, it is those numbers which are leading to speculation about a move. The feeling is that a loan move could enable him to play more regularly and continue his development.
Everton have done this before, with Jarrad Branthwaite spending a year at PSV before returning to the club and establishing himself in the first team.
PSV see Aznou as an investment in both sporting and financial terms. He falls in line with their strategy of focusing on young talents capable of establishing themselves quickly and increasing their value.
Their interest in the Everton left back is ‘very real’. The matter is being ‘carefully considered’ by those in charge at the Dutch club. The question is whether Everton will let him leave, either temporarily or permanently.
