There is growing criticism that the Reds are not moving quickly enough to strengthen their first-team squad.
Liverpool’s transfer activity is coming under increasing scrutiny this summer, with supporters eager to see how the club responds after a disappointing campaign that ultimately fell a long way short of expectations.
Following some high-profile departures at the end of last season in the form of Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson, there has been a growing feeling among sections of the fanbase that more reinforcements are required before the new Premier League campaign gets underway.

The Reds have moved to address key areas of the squad, but debate has continued over whether enough has been done to replace the quality and experience that has left Anfield.
With pre-season now in full swing, attention has turned towards how the players that Liverpool have signed this summer will adapt and whether they can make an immediate impact under Andoni Iraola.
While outside opinion has been divided, the Liverpool head coach has offered a clear indication of how he views the club’s early summer business, expressing confidence that both of his first-team additions possess the qualities needed to strengthen the squad.
Speaking to Stan Sport, Andoni Iraola first discussed defender Jeremy Jacquet, revealing he had been tracking the youngster well before Liverpool completed a deal.
“Jeremy was a player that I knew very well, even before signing for Liverpool,” the head coach said.
“He’s still very young, I think he has all the tools that we will need for that position.”
“He also comes in the last months of the season with a shoulder injury, but he’s fully healed. He has already been training with the under-21s, he’s ready to go from the beginning.”
Iraola was equally complimentary when discussing Victor Munoz, highlighting not only the player’s versatility but also the mentality he believes will allow him to succeed at Anfield.
“Victor also is a player that I know very well.”
“He can play both wings and I think he has the tools, the mentality, when I talk to a player I like that he’s still humble but ambitious.”
“I think he’s going to be a very good addition for us.”
With criticism continuing over Liverpool’s overall transfer business, Iraola’s assessment provides a strong vote of confidence in the club’s recruitment.
The head coach clearly believes both signings have the ability to make a positive impact, and their performances over the coming months will go a long way towards determining whether Liverpool’s measured approach to the market was the right one.
