NFL legend Tom Brady and WWE star Logan Paul added another chapter to their growing rivalry on Friday, July 17, at Fanatics Fest in New York City. The seven-time Super Bowl champion slapped Paul during an onstage confrontation, forcing NBA forward Karl-Anthony Towns to separate them.
During the incident, Brady reached around Towns before delivering an open-handed slap, while Paul shouted, “Get your boy, he’s gonna get himself hurt!”
The moment quickly spread across social media and led to speculation about a future WWE appearance for Brady. Neither Brady nor Paul has confirmed any wrestling plans, but the situation points towards something.
Here’s the video of Brady slapping Paul:
Paul has since explained the incident on X. He wrote, “This happened bc I was roasting Tom for beating him in flag football. And he tries to smack me ?? Horrible example for the kids Aura -100 + Blocked. With a torn tricep.”
Brady answered with his own post, writing, “I tried America… will try again next time I see this nerd.”
However, one thing that you should know is that the rivalry did not begin in July.
Months of rivalry between Tom Brady & Logan Paul
Brady and Paul first traded insults during Fanatics events in February before becoming opposing captains in the March celebrity Flag Football Classic.
During one incident in that event, Brady threw a football at Paul after a play, prompting Paul to confront him as the NFL legend backed away smiling before the two exchanged playful jabs.
Their exchanges continued through March, May, and July with public taunts, podcast comments, and social media posts. Paul also suffered a torn triceps injury in May during a WWE match, keeping him away from active competition.

The Fanatics Fest confrontation has now added a new layer to their feud.
The timing has fueled fresh WWE speculation. One day earlier, Brady admitted he wanted WWE President Nick Khan to create a storyline and said he would enjoy playing a heel.
“I need to get an invite,” Brady said during a live with Cody Rhodes at Fantics Fest. “I’ve been waiting for Nick Khan to come up with some storyline for me to get in the mix… My boy [Rob Gronkowski’s] done it. I’ve seen, obviously, Logan Paul do it. I think I could get in there for at least one match.”

The viral clip has appeared as a joint collaboration between Brady, Paul, Fanatics, the NFL, and WWE across social platforms. That coordinated release strengthened theories that the confrontation was planned entertainment.
Additionally, NFL writer Art Stapleton has also added to the conversation by posting, “Brady vs Logan Paul at SummerSlam.”
The clues point toward a promotional angle rather than a genuine dispute. Brady understands spectacle, while Paul has built his brand around crossover entertainment.

Until WWE confirms anything, the slap remains an attention-grabbing moment instead of an official storyline. Still, the months-long buildup makes a Brady appearance inside a WWE ring look increasingly believable.
