The entire Bronny James situation with the Los Angeles Lakers is a pretty interesting one to look out for, as reports have indicated that the Lakers actually like him as a player and could be willing to keep him around even after his father, LeBron James, announces where he's going to play.
Regarding Bronny, however, even if the Lakers don't want to trade him to where his father ends up signing, he could still be used as filler in another trade. One writer recently proposed that idea in a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans.
“One hypothetical scenario involves the New Orleans Pelicans in a trade. The Lakers would send James, Jarred Vanderbilt and the Lakers’ 2031 second-round pick to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for versatile wing Herbert Jones.
“The Lakers have been linked with wing additions this offseason. Jones is an option they can follow up on to get more depth in the forward position following several departures,” Adel Ahmad wrote.
As much as I know all Lakers fans would love to add a player of Herb Jones' caliber, and they'd certainly be willing to do so in a trade that only involves these players; there is a very low chance that anything like this would happen.
Bronny is a decent player in his own right, and Jarred Vanderbilt can be an above-average defender at times, but we're talking about one of the better wing defenders in the NBA in Jones, and the Pelicans have already made it known that they're looking for a pretty sizable package for him in return.
