The New York Knicks have made a move to strengthen their frontcourt by targeting Dallas Mavericks center Moussa Cisse.
According to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line, the Knicks signed Cisse to a two-year offer sheet. Dallas will have until Monday to decide whether to match the contract and retain the young big man.
The Mavericks previously extended a qualifying offer to Cisse, making him a restricted free agent and giving them the right to match any outside offer he receives.
His salary is half guaranteed in the first year, and 2027-28 is non-guaranteed.
Knicks target young rim protector
Cisse made 38 appearances during his rookie season with Dallas, averaging 4.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.
The 23-year-old center stands 6-foot-11 and went undrafted before earning a two-way contract with the Mavericks. He also produced 14.7 points and 13.1 rebounds per game with the Texas Legends in the G League.
Cisse's athleticism, rebounding, and rim protection could provide the Knicks with additional depth at center.

Mavericks face decision on Cisse's future
Dallas must now determine whether Cisse remains part of its plans or whether it is willing to let him continue his career in New York.
Matching the offer sheet would keep Cisse with the Mavs under the same two-year terms agreed upon with the Knicks.
Should Dallas decline to match before Monday's deadline, the center will officially join New York.
