The financial headache facing Berta
Securing either player will not be cheap. Unai Emery knows exactly what he has in Konsa, and Villa are holding out for an exorbitant £60m package. For a player who turns 29 in October, Arsenal view that layout as completely excessive. They want a discount of at least £15 million, but finding leverage against Villa is proving incredibly difficult.
Berta has pulled off masterclasses before. Last summer, he managed to land Cristhian Mosquera for a measly £13 million because of contract expiration constraints. He will not get that luxury here.
