West Ham United are interested in Arsenal teenage centre-back Jaden Dixon, according to journalist Sam Tabuteau.
Dixon joined Arsenal from Championship side Stoke City in February. He made his first-team debut for the Gunners in the 2-1 FA Cup victory at Mansfield Town in March.
West Ham are now considering a loan move for the England youth international as they aim to strengthen their defence.
Dixon is primarily a centre-back but can play anywhere across the defensive line.
He can be considered a modern defender. He is a good ball-carrier and is composed in possession, while his physicality and athleticism make him difficult to beat.
The England-born defender made six first-team appearances for Stoke before joining Arsenal, underlining his huge potential.
Dixon is unlikely to get ample game time with Mikel Arteta’s side next season.
William Saliba’s injury could have opened up opportunities for him, but Arsenal are already looking to sign a new centre-back, with Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa and Real Sociedad’s Jon Martin among their targets.
Hence, the former Stoke defender is likely to leave on loan to gain more first-team experience.
However, it remains to be seen whether he would be able to play regularly at West Ham, considering the defensive options available to manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
Should he be given assurances of regular playing time, a move to West Ham could benefit his development, allowing him to build on the promising signs he showed at Stoke and since joining Arsenal.
Dixon could then return to Arsenal with valuable first-team experience, putting himself in a stronger position to compete for a place in Arteta’s side ahead of the 2026/27 season.
