MIDDLESBROUGH are set to receive a British record sell-on fee when Morgan Rogers joins Chelsea in a £117m deal next week - taking Boro's profit on the forward to around the £35m mark.
Boro sold Rogers in a £15m deal just six months after they'd signed him and the Championship club are now set to pocket north of £20m thanks to a sell-on clause inserted in the agreement when Rogers left for Aston Villa.
Boro will make 20 per cent on any profit Aston Villa make on Rogers, which is set to be just over the £100m mark when he completes his £117m move to Stamford Bridge early next week.

Rogers was always likely to be on the move this summer but Arsenal appeared to be frontrunners for the signature of the England international.
But Chelsea made their move on Saturday and swiftly agreed a deal with Villa. Arsenal were weighing up a move of their own but are said to have been made aware that Chelsea is Rogers' preference. The 23-year-old is set to undergo his medical on Monday and the deal will then be agreed.
Rogers' last Boro goal came at Stamford Bridge in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg defeat to Chelsea in January, 2024.
His move to Villa was confirmed soon after and the former Manchester City youngster kicked on, establishing himself as one of the Premier League's best attackers and an England international. A host of leading clubs including PSG were said to be monitoring his situation ahead of the current window, but Chelsea will win the battle for his signature.
The windfall is obviously a major boost for Boro as they set about strengthening their squad for the coming Championship season.
Boro have so far landed Myles Peart-Harris and Kyle Joseph but are working on several more deals as they look to strengthen in several departments in the weeks ahead.
Boro want to sign at least one No.9 and more forward players, two midfielders, a left-back, a centre-back and a goalkeeper.
Boro kicked off their domestic pre-season campaign with a 1-1 draw at Celtic on Saturday, with David Strelec on target for Kim Hellberg's side, taking his tally to three goals in two outings.
