T.J. Houshmandzadeh Talks Aiyuk’s Commanders Future
Aiyuk has constantly trolled his current team in an effort to get out of his contract. The wide receiver has also made several bold comments about the organization on his personal Instagram account.
Although Aiyuk wants to be a part of the Washington Commanders, former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh believes that his attitude may prevent that from happening.
In a recent segment of Speakeasy, Houshmandzadeh shared his thoughts on the current situation and said:
“No, Ayuk, it’s done. It’s over. Stick or forget it. Zero. I’m not going to say this as fact. He isn’t going to the commanders. Zero percent chance. He isn’t going. I want Stephon Diggs. I like Diggs. Do we have problems off the field? Yeah, I mean, he just likes to mess with women all the time. That’s okay. You just don’t let it become a problem. But on the field, I’m taking him. B.A., 0% chance that he’s with the Commanders now. 0%. You know, the other day I was like, “I’m not anymore.” I’m certain. Wow.”
Houshmandzadeh had also previously warned Aiyuk, saying:
“He might not step foot in an NFL stadium again if he don’t shut the [expletive] up. Like, what is he doing? Like Adam Peters, you sign Brandon Aiyuk, the Commanders should fire you the day you sign him,” Houshmandzadeh said. “Do it. Like, what are you thinking? What makes y’all different than the San Francisco 49ers? Y’all don’t think he’s going to do to you what he’s doing to them? I don’t understand this.”
The approach the wide receiver is taking to reach his desired destination may have a negative impact on his career.
Aiyuk has done everything he could to leave his current organization and get released from his contract. One of Aiyuk’s videos went viral, showing the wide receiver speeding past Levi’s Stadium, where the 49ers play, before later posting a video of his excessive speed online.
Aiyuk has also taken aim at various members of the 49ers’ front office, including general manager John Lynch, and has repeatedly expressed interest in reuniting with his former Arizona State quarterback, Jayden Daniels, on the Washington Commanders.
Houshmandzadeh’s comments have left fans wondering what the future holds for Aiyuk. He has worked as Aiyuk’s personal coach in the past, so he knows him well.
If the wide receiver continues down this path, it appears unlikely that any NFL team will be willing to take a chance on him. Aiyuk remains under contract with the 49ers, and no NFL team is likely to be willing to trade for him while taking on the remainder of his salary.
