In terms of the Timberwolves' chances of landing LeBron James, Anthony Edwards was blunt enough to acknowledge that Minnesota is not included in the Top 3 teams leading the race.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are one of the key few teams involved in the LeBron James sweepstakes, but Anthony Edwards does not fully believe his team has a legitimate shot to win it.

As he appeared at Fanatics Fest NYC, Edwards was asked about the Timberwolves being mentioned as a potential destination for James. The All-Star guard kept it real and quickly downplayed the idea, noting that Minnesota isn't among the legitimate contenders to land the 41-year-old superstar.
“I have nothing to say about it because I’ve seen his top 3 teams," Edwards simply responded, "We’re not in it.”
As it is, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers are widely believed to be the top three teams leading the hunt in obtaining the commitment of LeBron James this offseason.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have emerged as one of the rumored suitors for James, believing that they have a shot to land a potential signing. However, recent reports have pushed the Timberwolves out of the conversation, with multiple sources and insiders now viewing those three Eastern Conference teams as the clear favorites to land James.
While they might be outside right now among those who have that serious chance, the Timberwolves still boast that strong possibility for James if ever he joins them. After trading Julius Randle, LeBron could slot into that power forward hole that Minnesota has been desperately seeking.
Joining Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, Rudy Gobert and new franchise star LaMelo Ball would be an intriguing scenario for Minnesota and the entire NBA, as James might be that final puzzle piece in the Wolves' championship plans.
While Edwards already ruled them out, the Timberwolves might still clinch for last hope that they can win the race for James.
